Welcome to Estel Speaking!
In the world of J.R.R. Tolkien, the word Estel refers to a “deep hope.” This hope is more than just a wish that things will go well. It is a profound trust in God’s providence. It involves “seeing the unmarred in the marred” - that is, seeing past the meaningless chaos of our world and finding the beauty inscribed within it by God.
Sadly, in this post-Christian era, people have become blind to the beauty and order that God has inscribed within the universe - and within each of us. God’s children have abandoned faith because it has become irrelevant to them. Ironically, it is this faith that has the power to give them the meaning, purpose, and adventure for which they so desperately long.
This is why my mission at Estel Speaking is to “guide people to the deepest meaning of who they are and who God is calling them to become, in light of their own stories and John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.”
John Paul II’s Theology of the Body provides the VISION by which we can re-enVISION the world and ourselves. It gives us the meaningful structure by which we can understand ourselves and others. One might say it is a road map for us to follow. But a road map alone is not enough. We need to know where we are on the map and where we are going. Knowing our stories can help us see where we are on the map and where we are going. Knowing our stories turns that map into an adventure!
We all long for this adventure. That is why, whether you are looking for a speaker for high school students, college students, or married couples, you have come to the right place. Why stories?
Stories change us. When we read them, watch them, or hear them, we begin to work out our own stories. That is why in all of our talks at Estel Speaking, we use stories from our own culture and actively ask questions that make listeners think of how they are writing their own stories.
Sadly, the stories of our world are not all like they used to be. That is why Gabriel has also founded Estel Publishing - a publishing company with beautifully rich Christian stories and symbolism.
The first book that he has published is called Aria’s Adventures - the first book in the Aria’s Adventures book series. Aria is a young redheaded girl with powers of empathy, healing, and connection. On her first adventure, she takes a journey to Gain a Guardian - that is, find her very first animal companion.
